Mosquito Nights

I just rode 124.8 kilometers! Check it out on #strava: http://app.strava.com/activities/42665355 .Woke up to eggs and baked beans for breakfast at Hotel Gwanda after being eaten my the mozzies on a hot and muggy night had to open the windows to get some air flow luckily there was a mosquito net , I filled a bottle of water and was pouring it in myself during the night to get the water to take some heat off me - it was all I had and it helped so sweetas bro .I was going to get some money out of the atms but none of them were working and the cue at all of the banks was unreal , luckily I remembered I had a few US dollars stashed but they had fallen down into my frame  - we used half a pool cue a bit of electrical tape and a bent bit of wire to get the bills out - all gone  .Then I found out I only had 124km to Bulawayo instead of 170km which I thought - sweetas pressure was off. Stopped at this village called Wbalabala and this girl called Marvellous came running upyo me eith some cold soft drinks -great service I thought and when a bus ir taxi arrived her and all the others sitting under the tree ran up to the bus or taxi snd sold drinks or corn through the window's- first in first served ! The photo if a guy working in a wheel from a bike - that was his workshop! He makes US 10 dollars a day - Beautiful people here in Zimbabwe The are very kind and loving and honest!

Short day

I just rode 75.9 kilometers! Check it out on #strava: http://app.strava.com/activities/42551211.Slept outside in my green silk sleeping bag liner with a mosquito net over my head eventually listening to some music to drown out the high pitched noise of the mozzies had a little jack Russell to keep me company .A friendly Giraffe came to visit so I went and said hi and took some photos. These two farmers from England raised some money -about £50000 one year to help people with their water needs in various countries in Africa - Nice work ! Heres anither photo- my dinner -catapillers and pap or corn - There I was sitting on the ground against the wall outside of the takeaway eating the staple diet around here and enjoying it when these two Okes past by and looked at me rather surprised at what I was doing -what?  It was yummy!

9 plus 1 = 10 ------punctures!

I just rode 118.3 kilometers! Check it out on #strava: http://app.strava.com/activities/42551318 .Ha ha made a new record today and learnt a few things about changing tyres -aways look on the bright side -the icing on the cake wss when a ute pulled over -being interested in what I was doing I showed him the thorns that I was pulling out of my tyres and just when I thought that I had finished the tomato farmer pulled two more out of the front tyre you could hear the air leaking out .A while later a truck went past and slammed on the breaks brought the truck to s halt then came back snd asked if I was alright and wanted a lift  - The farmer however did point out that there was some accomodation 20km up the road called Tods Place or Tod Inn which was a Godsend because I was running a bit late - Each puncture takes about 15 -20 minutes to fix so Tods place sounded perfect.Earlier on in the day a whole heap of Baboons ran across the  road and the big daddy came out of the bush not expexting to see me and started to run or clambor away from me with a frightened look on his face ,  the feeling was mutual. I was so glad ti finally reach Tods place and to meet Gary and his wife Thea  we sat around the bar with two other Zimbabwe okes "men"  and two Britts - Gsry had me in stitches wuth his brutally honest sense if humor and rough rough way of putting it- two Impala steak sandwiches and Impala stew on rice with salad for dinner and about 7 bottles of Fanta -I went for a swim in the pool and when I came back Gary just took off his shirt snd and threw it at me and told me to dry myself - What a character! ! Later I found out that we were the first tourists they had accomodated for months!
