I just rode 100.7 kilometers! Check it out on #strava: http://app.strava.com/activities/41938357  Check out these photos - The guy jumping in the back of the ute or "Buckie" as the are called here just came up to this guy asked for a lift and you can see the lights went green- so he just launched himself into the back of the buckie while the driver took off and this guy managed to stabilise himself - go you good thing! The photo with the ute at the traffic lights or "Robots" As they are called here in SA -One of the guys in the back recognised me from the petrol station I called into about 35km prior I had my camera turned off when they past me so turned it on and caught up to them at the robots .The final photo -You've heard of the term "Fully cabbaged out" Well this guy brings a new definition to that one! Heading towards Musina Looking forward to a big day in the saddle!

I just rode 107.4 kilometers! Check it out on #strava: http://app.strava.com/activities/41739677   When I pulled into Ermelo I was hoping to find a replacement bluetooth headset and get some more cards printed . Everything had been going well with my trip but I still hadn't managed to get my head around raising awareness and money fo people with MS  .On my way around the technology shops in Ermelo I walked into a computer shop where I met Lakesh -also a cyclist and also on strava , Lakesh helped me to get a Denon contact on the net and also gave me Quentin's phone number and said that he new how to design websites so I gave Quentin a call and he kindly agreed to meet me 10am at the backpackers the next day .I had an idea in my mind about what it was that I thought I could achieve with a website but sitting and listening to Quentin made me realise he knew a whole lot and that I had a lot to learn! Its abit like learning another language for me when talking about website functionality. After about half an hour and an ice tea Quentin told me that he would be the first sponsor and that he was going to build the website as his donation to this cause - WOW  what a top man ! So Quentin Nell from Polir web design is the first official sponsor -I still need to come up with a name yet ! Quentin said the site should be up and running in about two weeks -This is so exciting to see a dream become a reality and to make a difference in the lives of people who live with MS ! Also while in Ermelo once again Quentin phoned Two of the local papers and Gerry from the Highvelder came around took photos and did an interview also while on the way to Middleburg , Bronwyn from the Highveld  Tribune did a phone interview with me while I was standing under a tree in the shade . Thankyou so much to Quentin , Ruan, , Lakesh and Sean from Gateway Backpackers for all you help and support -legends! Enjoy the ride!

2in1

Woke up at the Gateway backpackers and decided to stay another day to get some more cards printed and hopefully get my bluetooth headset fixed or replaced. Beautiful sunny weather  today. Got quite a bit done - New cards underway 2nd Edition , new cycling top with pockets on the back to hold phone until I find a suitable replacement. What was really exciting was when I took my bike up the stairs to this cycle shop in Ermelo and told Ruan how I was getting a bit sore on my left side of my lower back and sometimes my toes went a bit numb - he was so cool and let me go a d grab my bike and bring it straight back to fit the cleats on my shoes and position my seat and seatpost correctly - man I was stoked  to get that issue soughted ,Thankyou so much Ruan !!! You have changed my ride .Also while I was there I remembered that I was carrying a bottom hub opening tool and a chain whip which seemed obvious to make two tools into one - Ruan gave me some spare chain and a map to Rouse engineering so I rode there the guy marked off the hole positions with some calipers and whiteout then drilled three perfect holes charged me 30 rand then back to Ruan to attach the chain - Lekkkker

Unpublished Post from Durban

Finally back in the saddle after about 5 days in Durban purchasing a new phone and syncing my devices together to make my uploading more streamlined , there is always something to learn but after alot  of learning I am pretty happy with my setup I cant say too much about  a particular  subject to do with uploading files but thankyou to the guys who helped me through the process . This new samsung galaxy note 2 is a phenomenal piece of  technology  I can now watch  all my  gopro footage ,edit and upload  my data to Strava and link everything together so stoked hopefully this will save time and make things easier. I had a head wind for most of the day which was a good battle through the sugar and gumtree growing  areas , everthing worked well apart from the battery connection to the dynamo, it must have come loose so I didnt store that much power but the solar panels saved the day and worked well with my spare cache battery , I have to say that my expectations for the solar were not that great  but I was proved wrong  - the other thing was my bluetooth headset decided not to work hopefully I can get that going , so it was just  me and my thoughts vs the road and the headwind  back to basics. Beautiful weather and plenty of greenery bike was well tuned , went through 8-10 litres of water with a berocca with some electrolytes - always a good combo  , anyway what was so cool about today was that I  Pulled into this road house to have a feed then I was going to find a place to camp but instead Troy introduced himself and said I could stay at his place - what   a top man! Thankyou Lord  !!  Had a cold bath Troy steamed up some chicken breast and fresh avocado on the side  and taught me APAP  Aware- Psychology -Avoid- Physical ; ways to avoid conflict -  going to have to start taking malaria pills tomorrow will see how that goes  Valentines day tomorow  up early and into it !

Big Truck -Big Train

I just rode 107.2 kilometers! Check it out on #strava: http://app.strava.com/activities/41398275 . Another perfect day for cycling , was just doing the kms when I pulled into a tuck shop on the side of the road to grab a drink and some water  when a man named Campbell Ross came and introduced himself to me , so cool how people do that here reminds me of NZ and OZ anyway Campbell was a tour guide for Southern Africa and gave me the lowdown or where to go  - Awesome  Thanks Campbell ! Also across the road was a rather large truck in fact the worlds largest cn road truck as seen on discovery channel , all the drivers were super cool and interested in my trip ASwell apparently each of the load bearing trailors had 164 wheels there were 2 of these then not to mention all the wheels on the trucks in the middle was a massive transformer weighing I think 257 tonnes going up the road fir a new coal power station .So we all took some photos and I headed off just in front , one of the drivers give me a big HONK with the trucks horn . I managed to keep ahead of them on the road- they travel at about 20kmph. Also to my right came a super long train, as it was passing I thought oh year, then it kept going and going and then I looked back and still couldnt see the end , full of coal heading to China apparently - I think there is a bit of coal around here !
